WHY THE INSTITUTE EXISTS
Healthy leaders don't happen by accident. They're developed over time, through serious theological formation, hands-on experience, and the kind of mentorship and community that sharpens character alongside competency.
We believe the local church is one of the most important places God uses to form those leaders. And we believe Brentwood Baptist has a responsibility to invest in that formation, not just for our own congregation, but for the broader church and Kingdom.

Five Ways to Grow
The Institute brings together five distinct programs, each designed for a different stage and expression of ministry formation. Here's an overview of what's available.
Coaching is one of the most powerful tools a leader can have. The Center for Christian Coaching offers both a pathway for leaders seeking a Christian Coach for their own growth and a certification track for those who want to develop coaching skills to use with those they lead.
Whether you're navigating a life decision, developing your calling, or want to become a more effective coach as a leader, this program meets you where you are.
In partnership with Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS), the Nashville Equip Center brings graduate-level theological education to Middle Tennessee, right here at Brentwood Baptist. You can audit a single class, earn a Graduate Certificate in Christian Ministry, work toward a master's degree, or pursue a TNT Next Level Certificate.
This is seminary-quality formation within a local church community of ministers and leaders from across the region.
TNT is a one-year leadership development experience for Brentwood Baptist members who want to deepen their biblical understanding, sharpen their theology, and grow in their capacity to serve inside and outside the church. It's for members who are ready to take their walk with Christ and their service to His church to the next level.
The primary place to learn how to serve the local church is by serving in the local church. The Ministry Residency is a two-year, immersive formation experience that places residents inside a real congregation, under the guidance of experienced ministers, doing real ministry. If you're sensing a call to vocational ministry, this is where that calling gets tested, developed, and equipped.
Sensing a call to ministry but not to leave your career? The Bivocational Residency was created for leaders who are called to both their profession and the local church. Through personalized coaching, mentoring, and a ministry placement designed around your life, you'll develop the skills and experience to serve faithfully in both arenas.
